2013 Fire Tax Information, Refund, and Opt Out

The Fiscal Court passed ordinance #03-2012-656 authorizing fire dues to be collected by the sheriff as part of the county tax bill. The Sheriff’s office has no control over this tax but it must be collected. As per the same ordinance you are entitled to a refund of the fire tax but this must be collected from the responsible fire department for the area of your property. This department will be listed on your tax bill. Please download the forms here. The magistrate and fire departments contact information as well as the refund form and the future opt out forms are included. Please complete these forms.

2012 Taxes AVAILABLE

Taxes are available for searching, however the official mailed copies should arrive on or around October 1st. Therefore we can not accept any payments until October 1st.

New Office Location

We have moved to 212 Barnes Road. We no longer have an office in the old courthouse.

The 2010 Tax Collection Period has ended

All tax bills that have not been paid are now available for payment at the Clerks office located next to the courthouse. No further payments can be made at the Sheriff’s office.
